To allow teachers access to their  Gradebooks before the beginning date of the first academic term:
  1. Go to Core >  School > Years and Terms
  2. Filter on the desired school year and school level
  3. Adjust the date of the first Academic Term to the date that you wish to grant teachers access to their Gradebooks

Then navigate to:
  1. Academics > Grades > Grading Setup
  2. Select Gradebook settings
  3. Filter on the desired school year, and school level
  4. Click on the icon icon for the marking period
  5. Adjust the date of the marking period to be the beginning of the date of the new academic term
Then navigate to:
  1. Core > Settings > School Information > Years and Terms
  2. Search for the desired school year and school level
  3. Adjust the first academic term date to the original desired date
