Error: ...A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider: Named Pipes Provder, error:0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.) - when accessing Online Express

When opening Online Express in The Raiser's Edge, one of the following messages may occur:

A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider:Named Pipes Provider, error:0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)

OR

Unable to open database connection: [database name]
A connection was successfully established with the server, but then an error occurred during the login process. (provider:Shared Pipes Provider, error:0 - No process is on the other end of the pipe.)


Clicking OK to the message allows Online Express to load. However, it takes several minutes for it to open and is slow moving through the product functions.
 
We are currently evaluating this issue and will update this article when we have more information. In the meanwhile, click OK to the message. Online Express will open, though it may take to move through the product.

Steps to Duplicate

  1. Log into The Raiser's Edge.
  2. Click on Online Express in the left Raiser's Edge menu.
  3. Error occurs.
  4. Click OK.
  5. Online Express will load. However, it takes several minutes for it to open and is slow moving through the product functions.
