Cannot add user to WebPortal Security Group

After adding a user to a WebPortal security group and saving, the user disappears from the group. The user record will not show the WebPortal group either.
This occurs because the user doesn't have permission to access The Financial Edge and online modules.
  1. Open the user record from Administration > Set up system security
  2. Select the "User Type" drop down box
  3. Select the option for "User can access The Financial Edge and online modules
  4. Add the WebPortal user group to the user's record
  5. Save and Close

Steps to Duplicate

  1. In Financial Edge, navigate to Administration > Set up system security
  2. Open a security group for WebPortal
  3. Click the "Group Members" tab
  4. Select a user
  5. Click the right-facing arrow to add the user to the group
  6. Save and close
  7. Open the user record
  8. Notice that the WebPortal user group is not listed in Groups
