Resetting the BBPS and/or BBMS password is a three-step process:
  1. Reset the password on Blackbaud.com. For security reasons, only Organization Admins can reset BBPS and BBMS passwords.
    1. Log in to www.blackbaud.com
    2. Click the menu icon (three lines) at the top left
    3. Select Admin
    4. Under Reset passwords, click Payment Services or Merchant Services
    5. Click Reset Password next to the username for the account to reset
    6. You will then receive an email with a secure link to reset the password
  2. Update the password in your Blackbaud software using the steps below.
  3. Update the BBMS Web Portal
Warning: If you change your BBPS or BBMS password(s), you must also update ALL of your Blackbaud applications using BBMS or BBPS with the new credentials. Failure to update the password in Blackbaud applications will cause credit card and ACH (direct debit) transactions to stop processing.
 

Raiser's Edge:

BBPS:
  1. Log in to The Raiser's Edge as Supervisor (this must be the username Supervisor, not a user with Supervisor rights)
  2. Go to Config > General
  3. In the Password field, enter the new BBPS password
  4. Click the Test Connection button to confirm a successful connection.
If the connection is not successful, refer to Error: The Raiser's Edge is unable to connect to the Blackbaud Payment Service.
BBMS:
  1. Go to Config > Business Rules > Merchant Account
  2. Open the BBMS Merchant Account
  3. In the Password field, enter the new BBMS password
  4. Click Save
If your organization uses Online Express forms, it is recommended to re-save any live forms.
 

Blackbaud NetCommunity:

BBPS:
  1. Browse to Administration > Sites & settings
  2. Highlight your organization (top level) in the left pane
  3. On the right, click the Web services tab
  4. Scroll down until you see "Blackbaud Payment Service"
  5. In the Password field, enter the new password
  6. Scroll back to the top of the page and click Save
BBMS:
  1. Browse to Administration > Merchant Accounts
  2. Click the Pencil icon to edit the BBMS Merchant Account
  3. In the Password field, enter the new password
  4. Click Save
 

eTapestry:

BBPS:
  1. Log into your eTapestry database
  2. Click Management in the menu bar
  3. Click My Organization > Preferences
  4. Enter your updated password into the BBPS Password field
  5. Click Save and Go to Persona
BBMS:
  1. Log into your eTapestry database
  2. Click Management in the menu bar
  3. Click My Organization > eCommerce
  4. Click your BBMS processor  Note: If this is your first time entering your BBMS credentials you will need to select Add BBMS processor from the left hand side.
  5. Enter your updated password into the Password field
  6. Click Save
If your organization uses DIY forms, it is recommended to republish any live forms: How Do I Go Live (Publish) My DIY Form?


Blackbaud CRM:

Note: This will need to be updated in all environments including production and non-production.
BBPS:
  1. Go to Revenue > Configuration > BBPS Merchant Accounts
  2. Under Tasks, click Edit Blackbaud Payment Service login
  3. In the Password field, enter the new password
  4. Click Save
BBMS:
  1. Go to Revenue > Configuration > BBPS Merchant Accounts
  2. Under Merchant accounts, select the BBMS account
  3. On the action bar, click Edit
  4. In the Password field, enter the new password
  5. Click Save
 

Altru:

BBPS:
  1. Go to Revenue > Configuration > BBPS Merchant Accounts
  2. Under Tasks, click Edit Blackbaud Payment Service login
  3. In the Password field, enter the new password
  4. Click Save
BBMS:
  1. Go to Revenue > Configuration > BBPS Merchant Accounts
  2. Under Merchant accounts, select the BBMS account
  3. On the action bar, click Edit
  4. In the Password field, enter the new password
  5. Click Save


Luminate:

BBPS:
  1. Go to Setup > Payment Capabilities
  2. Select the Payment Services tab
  3. Click Import Blackbaud Merchant Services
  4. In the Password field, enter the new password
  5. Click Import
BBMS:
  1. Log into the BBMS Web Portal
  2. Click Account Management > General Settings
  3. Locate Account Configurations
  4. Click the ellipses button (...) to the left of the Blackbaud Merchant Services account
  5. Select Edit
  6. Make no changes and click Save
  7. Repeat for any additional account configurations


K12 On Products:

BBPS:
  1. Log in as a Payment Services Manager
  2. In the Persona menu, go to Core > Settings > Payment settings
  3. Click Payment Services
  4. Click Edit and type in the new BBPS password
  5. Click Save
BBMS:
  1. Log in as an Admissions, ReEnrollment, Giving, Registration, or Store Manager
  2. Go to Core > Settings > Payment Settings > Payment Processing
  3. Click Edit next to the BBMS account you need to update
  4. Type in the new password
  5. Click Save


Education Edge Online Express Bill Pay:

BBPS:
  1. Log in to Student Billing as a user with access to Online Express Bill Pay
  2. In the OXBP plug-in, click Options > Update BBPS Credentials
  3. Enter in User ID and new password
  4. Click Update
  5. Click Ok
*** User ID and Password fields will be greyed out if the current credentials are still valid.


Blackbaud Merchant Services Web Portal:

BBPS:
  1. Log in to the BBMS Web Portal
  2. Click Account Management > General Settings
  3. Locate Account Configurations
  4. A prompt will appear "Blackbaud Merchant Services has detected a Blackbaud Payment Service credentials change and is unable to connect with Blackbaud Payment Service. Please submit the new Blackbaud Payment Service credentials here."
  5. In the Password field, enter the new BBPS password
  6. Click Test updated credentials to ensure a successful connection
  7. If the connection is successful, click Save.  (If the connection is not successful, re-enter the BBPS password until your connection is confirmed)
  8. Return to Account Management > General Settings and locate Account configurations
  9. Click the ellipsis next to the Blackbaud Merchant Services
  10. Select Edit
  11. Make no changes and click Save
  12. Repeat these steps for each configuration and in any additional Blackbaud Merchant Service accounts (if applicable)
BBMS:
  1. Log in to the BBMS Web Portal
  2. Click Account Management > General Settings
  3. Locate Account Configurations
  4. Click the ellipsis next to Blackbaud Merchant Services
  5. Select Edit
  6. Make no changes and click Save
  7. Repeat for each configuration

It is necessary to re-enter BBPS credentials in BBMS if the BBPS password is changed with a new installation of a Blackbaud product. The BBMS portal must connect to BBPS in order to process credit cards and/or retrieve transaction data from the calling application. Once this has been completed, the credentials will not have to be re-entered unless the BBPS password is reset again.
