When sending emails via Scheduled Queues, e-mails are sent directly to the SMTP server. When a queue involving an e-mail is run on demand, then the local Outlook client on the machine running the on demand Queue will open to send the e-mail.
If emailing from Scheduled Queues for The Raiser's Edge 7.82 or higher an SMTP server must be specified in Business Rules
If emailing from Scheduled Queues for The Raiser's Edge versions before 7.82, The Financial Edge, and The Education Edge, IIS and SMTP must be installed on the computer running the Queue service.
