Duplicate Constituent Management tool shows zero or '0' Possible Duplicates for some constituents

When using the Duplicate Constituent Management tool, some Constituents show '0' possible duplicates, even when the report is set to include 'inactive' and 'deceased' records.  When clicking on a name with no possible duplicates, nothing appears in the right side of the Duplicate Constituent Management tool.
The Duplicate Constituent Management Tool finds potential duplicates according to a set algorithm. A user can use settings in the Duplicate Constituent Management Tool to show which duplicates are listed. However, if the Tool's settings are set in a way that filters out a potential duplicate, then zero will appear because there is not a potential duplicate based on the selected settings. In order to set the settings to see all found potential duplicates:
  1. Go to Admin > Duplicate Constituent Management Tool
  2. Select Organization or Individual
  3. Select Open previous results
  4. Click Open
  5. Above the results, click on Tools in the top menu bar
  6. Select Settings
  7. Set the Settings as follows:
Duplicate Constituent Management Tool settings to see all duplicates
  8. Click OK
  9. Results will refresh
  10. Click on Potential Duplicates header to sort by the count
  11. Scroll to top or bottom of list to find the lowest number of duplicates, which should be 1 or higher

After reviewing the Settings of the Duplicate Constituent Management Tool, if you still encounter this issue in the latest version and patch of Raiser's Edge please contact support and reference this article.
