This message may be received when attempting to merge two vendors, where you would like to delete the Source Constituent record. Since each vendor is associated with Merchandise, we are unable to fully delete the vendor record. Instead we should select to Inactivate the Source Constituent:
  1. Go to Constituents>Duplicates>Merge two Constituents
  2. Select a Source Constituent to be marked Inactive.
  3. Select a Target Constituent that will become the active record.
  4. Select a Merge Configuration.
  5. Select the bubble that says "Mark Source Constituent Inactive."
  6. Fill in the Inactive reason and details, if necessary.
  7. Click Merge.

Steps to Duplicate
