How do I refund an order that was applied to a membership

You may run into a situation where you need to refund an order that you have since applied to a membership.
To refund the original order, you will first need to refund the membership order that it was applied to.

Refund Membership order:
  1. From sales, select order search
  2. Search for and select the order that contains the membership
  3. On the left side, select refund order.
  4. If you are allowing the constituent to keep their membership and they paid by credit card, you can change the refund method in the payment details section to an "other" method
  5. Enter a refund reason and click refund.

Refund original order:
  1. Now from sales, select order search
  2. Search for and select the original order
  3. On the left side, select refund order
  4. Click refund.
If you changed the refund method on the membership order, you can now re-enter that order using the same "other" method used on the refund.
