ODBC Setup Instructions ODBC Connection

A connection to the Blackbaud K-12 database must be made via an ODBC DSN connection from within your school. In order to make the ODBC connection, you must first be VPN'd into the Blackbaud K-12 network. Instructions for VPN’ing in are included below. ODBC DSN must use the Microsoft SQL Server 2008 ODBC driver or later. We recommend you get the latest version of this driver, currently Microsoft ODBC Driver 11 for SQL.

A database login and password will be provided by your Blackbaud K-12 contact.

For more information on establishing your ODBC connection, refer to Creating the ODBC DSN.

Read-Only Data Views

The views you will be accessing are the same objects used in Advanced List Manager: The Data Dictionary and Data Diagram can be found online by logging into your school’s App. Click on Lists on Dashboards for Core, onCampus, onRecord or Lists from the onBoard  User-added imagemenu.
Click the down arrow next to Add – click on Create Advanced List. The Data Dictionary and Data Diagram links are available just below the Cancel, Save & Exit and Save buttons.
